About Us

Angela B. Simmons has nearly 30 years of experience working with clients to simplify the complexities around wealth management. She started her career on the trading desk of a small boutique money management firm in New York City and she began working with private clients after moving back to the West Coast in 1996.  

As a Certified Investment Manager Analyst^®, Angela oversees The Simmons Group’s investment decisions and ongoing monitoring of the markets and portfolio performance. She develops and implements customized investment plans for high and ultra-high net worth families, corporate retirement plans, and non-profit organizations.

Angela's work as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER^® practitioner brings knowledge and experience to the planning process for clients. She is highly skilled at organizing complex details and illustrating financial and investment planning scenarios for clients. Her approach simplifies the process and helps facilitate decision-making. 

She also collaborates with attorneys, tax advisors, and other professionals to design and execute comprehensive estate and philanthropic strategies as well as strategies for concentrated positions. Her guidance leads clients to clarify their core values and help them prioritize their goals and aspirations.

Angela is also a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst^® and Accredited Domestic Partnership Advisor^®, bringing awareness of issues specific to clients in transition.  She partners with Family Law attorneys and individuals navigating divorce to strategize, and illustrate scenarios showing the long term implications of settlement options.  Her work alongside clients in the mediation and settlement process builds the foundation for confidence in decision making for the future.

Angela graduated from Pepperdine University with a BA and earned her master’s degree in international business at the Pepperdine Graziadio Business School. She is a member of the East King County Estate Planning Council. Angela resides in Kirkland and enjoys the outdoors, visiting beaches and spending time with her husband, daughter, their two dogs and their Pineapple Green-cheeked conure.

Sylvie Q. Thomas has a natural ability to engage with clients at a deep level to understand their goals and needs, and interpret their financial picture. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER^® Sylvie is responsible for guiding clients through a customized process that includes developing and maintaining investment plans, analyzing investment options, and providing strategic advice on a range of financial topics. With a keen eye for detail and a passion for data analysis, Sylvie brings a unique perspective to the investment selection process, helping clients to make informed investment decisions that align with their short and long-term goals.

“I love getting to know our clients and their families on a personal level in order to align their investment plans with their values,” Sylvie says. “I enjoy helping people and bringing forward ideas and perspectives they haven’t considered before.”

Sylvie guides and educates clients through complexities of financial management, advising clients on equity-based compensation plans, multigenerational wealth transfer, education planning, philanthropic giving plans, and other intricate financial topics. In this work, she partners with attorneys, tax advisors, and other professionals to help clients develop a holistic wealth management strategy.   She strives to simplify the decision making process in order to relieve stress and empower our clients in their financial decisions.

Sylvie's commitment to excellence and dedication to her work is reflected in her ongoing pursuit of knowledge and professional development. Sylvie graduated from Kenyon College in Ohio with a BA in Math and Economics. Currently pursuing a Master's degree through the University of Washington Foster School of Business Evening MBA program, Sylvie is deepening her knowledge of financial markets, business strategy, and the global economy. 

Sylvie is a Seattle native and resides in Wallingford. She enjoys hiking, kayaking, and travel. Sylvie volunteers as a lay person for the King County Bar Association’s Judicial Screening Committee and with Minds Matter Seattle where she mentors students through the college preparation process.

Ariel Olson has a passion for helping clients achieve their goals, and plays a pivotal role in providing tailored financial strategies and insights. As an Accredited Wealth Management Advisor®, she offers comprehensive solutions spanning investment planning, retirement strategies, education planning, and more. Using her ability to translate complex financial matters into easily understandable terms, Ariel empowers clients to confidently navigate their financial journeys.

As a Financial Consultant, Ariel takes on the responsibility of assisting clients in making informed financial decisions that align with their goals. Furthermore, Ariel plays an active role in our Young Investors Program, contributing her insights to educate and guide the next generation towards financial literacy and success.

Ariel graduated early from the University of Delaware, where she earned her Bachelor of Science and continued her education in Business Analytics, graduating with a master’s degree. During her post graduate degree, Ariel began her career at a wealth management firm in Wilmington, Delaware before she made her way to the West Coast. She holds the Series 7 and Series 66 licenses and is licensed in life and health insurance.

In her personal life, Ariel has embraced Seattle as her home. She enjoys oil painting as well as outdoor activities like kayaking and hiking, taking advantage of the region's natural beauty with family and friends. Ariel was a competitive figure skater for many years and still enjoys skating in her free time.

Heather David is a Senior Registered Client Associate.  She is driven to help and support people which brings a caring touch to her work with clients and the team.  Heather’s strengths include strong organization and efficiency.  She implements and monitors our managed investment process, helping us to achieve our mission to deliver hands-on management and customization for clients in that process.

“From a young age, finance is something that interested me. I love getting to know our clients and appreciate they lean on us to help them reach their financial goals. Whether it is going on a once-in-a-lifetime vacation, building their dream home or even helping their children purchase their first home, we work to help them get there,” says Heather.

She brings a shared goal of providing best-in-class services to our group and enjoys working in a team environment. She oversees many of our special projects such as seasonal tax loss harvesting, retirement plan contributions, charitable giving, and insurance processing.  Heather also keeps a keen eye on coordinating money movements for unique client goals.

Heather has obtained her Series 7, 63, and 65 registrations which allow her to delve in at a deeper level of work for clients.  She earned her bachelor’s degree in biology at Georgia Southern University, and in her previous career, she was a specialized medical assistant and head trainer at a surgery practice in Atlanta.

She lives with her husband, Jason, in Suwanee, Georgia, along with their two pets, an English Pointer and orange Tabby cat. Heather and Jason enjoy hiking in the great outdoors, staying fit and learning more about home improvement projects.

Gabrielle S. Harrison is a Client Associate. Her strong comprehensive organizational and administrative skillset brings support and care to clients with consistency in our premier client services, which we believe enhance the overall client experience. 

Gabrielle oversees cash flows, annual performance reporting as well as tax reporting for clients. She is an active participant in managing our internal operations and overall team communications to improve efficiencies in our work with clients. Her mindful engagement, attention to detail and genuine care bring clients confidence in the consistency of our work in their daily lives.

Gabrielle attended St. Lawrence University in upstate New York and earned her bachelor’s degree in business and communications. She also attended university in Shanghai, China, to immerse herself in studying the Chinese language and Business. After graduating, Gabrielle returned to her hometown of Seattle and became a Development Associate for Holy Names Academy, her alma mater. During her time in this role, she grew a passion for assisting families, client experience, and community engagement, all of which formed a strong foundation for her role as Client Associate.

Gabrielle currently resides in the Queen Anne neighborhood of Seattle, where she enjoys taking in the amazing views at any of Queen Anne’s wonderful parks and introducing herself to the many adorable dogs that cross her path. She enjoys spending her time with family, friends, and her family’s two goldendoodles.
